Indian Law: Support or Obstruction? — The Struggle of Farmers in Nashik By Arun Ramchandra Pangarkar Founder – Shramik Kranti Mission “Voice of the Poor” In today’s time, a fundamental question arises — is the law meant to serve the people, or is it being used to obstruct their rightful work? The ongoing struggle of farmers in Pangri Budruk (Taluka Sinnar, District Nashik) has brought this issue into sharp focus. Due to the blockage of the access (wahiwat) road affecting agricultural lands (Gut No. 158, 159, 160), farmers are unable to harvest wheat and transport sugarcane. National Duty of Society Towards Flood Victims

National Duty of Society Towards Flood Victims

The crisis faced by people in flood-affected regions is extremely grave. The government has extended a helping hand. In such times, government aid is not only necessary but also a fundamental responsibility and moral duty of the state. However, relying solely on government assistance is not enough — the entire society must come together to support the flood victims. This is the true need of the hour.

The Situation of Flood Victims

The lives of flood-affected farmers have been completely devastated. Not only have their crops been washed away, but fertile soil has also been eroded. Their livelihood has been reduced to nothing. In such circumstances, government aid alone will prove insufficient.

Responsibilities of Society

  • People’s representatives — MLAs, MPs, and Ministers should donate at least one month’s salary.
  • Highly paid government officers and employees should contribute at least one day’s to one month’s salary according to their capacity.
  • Wealthy industrialists, traders, and the affluent class should provide generous financial support.
  • Ordinary citizens should also extend a helping hand according to their ability.

What Can We Do?

  • Donate food grains, clothes, medicines, and other essential items.
  • Contribute financially to reliable NGOs or official government relief funds.
  • Volunteer time and effort to help in the rehabilitation of flood victims.

Even a small contribution made collectively can become a great support for someone in need.
This is the time to show true patriotism and genuine love for the nation.
Let us unite in this hour of calamity and repay the debt of humanity!
