🚜 A Right of Way Road... or the Sacrifice of Our Future and the Future of Generations to Come?

A Message of Humanity, Dialogue and Constitutional Values

"When a road is blocked, an alternative route can be found. But when the roads between hearts are blocked, society itself loses its direction."

Disputes over agricultural access roads and rights of way are not new in rural India. What begins as a disagreement over a few feet of land or a pathway often transforms into a struggle driven by ego, revenge, prestige and hostility.

❖ Is the Issue About a Road or About Humanity?

When dialogue stops, disputes begin. Disputes lead to accusations. Accusations lead to conflicts. Conflicts eventually result in police complaints, court cases and years of bitterness.

In such situations, the real question is not who wins and who loses. The real question is: Who ultimately suffers the consequences?

The answer is simple: everyone. Time is lost. Money is spent. Mental peace disappears. Relationships are damaged. Most importantly, the future of the next generation is put at risk.

❖ What Legacy Are We Leaving for Future Generations?

A dispute that starts over a road can easily become a lifelong family feud. Children who had nothing to do with the original conflict inherit anger, distrust and resentment.

Today's dispute becomes tomorrow's legacy.

We must ask ourselves: Are we truly fighting for a road, or are we fighting for our ego?

❖ The Constitutional Path or the Path of Conflict?

Democracy and the Constitution provide us with mechanisms for dialogue, justice and peaceful resolution. Administrative delays, mistakes and frustrations may occur. Citizens may sometimes feel ignored or treated unfairly. Yet violence, hatred and revenge can never be a lasting solution.

I also honestly admit that there were moments when administrative inaction, delays and failure to resolve disputes caused frustration and anger in my mind. However, even in those moments, I did not abandon my faith in constitutional and lawful methods.

Anger may be natural, but abandoning the rule of law only creates deeper wounds and bigger conflicts.

❖ It Is Not Too Late

One day, the road may finally be opened. Orders may be implemented. Physical obstacles may be removed.

But will it be possible to rebuild broken trust? Will it be possible to heal damaged relationships? Will it be possible to erase the bitterness passed on to future generations?

Therefore, the need of the hour is dialogue instead of hatred, patience instead of revenge, and constitutional solutions instead of endless conflict.

This is not merely a question of a road. It is a question of our society, our values, our children and the future we leave behind.
